This is captivating..lol..had to say that, didn't I? Well, I like your reasoning on why you don't have to give a reason, and if I don't take anything else away with this upload, it will be your impeccable logic..nice manip, btw :)PJ
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away
Tell me what made you that way
Nice combination here...The web stands out. Can't see mich of the skyride outside of the red light and colors, though...but I'll bet that's the intent...Well done...

I really like the mood and feel of your piece here.
True, it might be unsettling ... but, that is an indication in my mind that you have indeed stimulated our senses. Not ... not, an easy thing to do.
As a most humble suggestion ... have you considered cropping this to eliminate some ... some of the negative space? (Simply put, and you might be aware of this ... areas where there is no inherent visual or compositional interest. Being frank here.)
I think you have presented a well-balanced composition with the web and other objects that appear. I might have been tempted to fill the canvas with that alone and eliminated some, if not all of the black where the web does not extend into.
However, if you are trying to add another element ... another dimension and are taking some artistic licence (there is a feeling of claustrophobia with the isolation of the web in the space, at least for me) ... I can certainly respect that.
I like it. And hope that you continue to flex your creativity ... because you can and do in my eyes. :o)
