It would be the dead kind if my wife saw it, mm. I like it though - very interesting critter and a great macro -

edit: it appears to be a Gulf Fritillary Caterpillar

It's definitely NOT the title. Not even close. "Fuzzy Wuzzy" was a bear if I'm not mistaken. I think it's a "Hairy Backbender" destined to look like "Roadkill" if it shows up near me. Nonetheless the pic is a FANTASTIC MACRO.

Thanks all for looking and commenting! Muggsy...I do not even believe you for a minute. You are so kind-hearted you would not hurt a fly....{or maybe that was Norman Bates....}:)?

Wow..look at that color on that caterpillar! Definitley not one to stay in the background is he? Some type of camo. for an orange tree maybe? He's definitely cool!! (as long as he's outside and not crawling on my bedroom wall or something!!! )

EEEWWWW... I get these guys on my Mandevilla - in fact it's why I quit growing that plant - beautiful flowers but no matter what it would end up covered in these.
BUT - on a photogenic note - this IS a great shot of one. The ugliest of bugs still can be beautiful close up and you really got a good close-up!
