I like this very much. Fun study in texture, focus, and lighting! B&W was definitely the right choice too.

Beautiful focus. I like the textures and angles here too. You've really made an interresting image out of something as mundane as apencil and window ledge. B/W, focus and lines give it an artistic edge.
