This 10-story building has been named the tallest tree house in the world and is located in Crossville, Tennessee.. Inside the building one can find a spiral staircase, a sanctuary, a choir loft, a basketball court and several rooms and balconies. In addition, the designer decided to build a belfry tower, this treehouse MUST be seen and explored, but please carry some prudence about you when poking around. you can feel a slight sway as you ascend the creaky stairs caused by wind and people running around. I only mention prudence because there are a multitude of spots that invite you to make precarious and potentially dangerous climbs, certain ladders are unsteady; cracks between floorboards range from teensy to canyonesque. its important to look where you step. Another not-uncommon sight is the room or corridor missing a wall, the floorboards ending at a sheer drop to either the outside or to a wood refuse pit below. This all makes for terribly exciting scouting but I could only make it to the eight floor of the tree house before calling it quits. Thanks for viewing one of America's offbeat oddities

I love tree forts! The ones I have built through the years are mere closet space compared to this! The place is so big it looks like you had a hard time getting the whole thing into the picture! Really a fun and great shot!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

Oh, great house. I am not much, or at all, tree climber, but I'd like to visit this tree house. Wonderful shot, my dear friend.

Really beautiful and unusual. I used to have a treehouse when I was 10 years old. Of course, politicians never grow up.

WHAT? No bowling alley? LOL. Now that I would like to see..and tour the place. That's really a nice shot of the tree house. Nice surroundings, and a great sky. Watch out for the bats in the belfry.

Oh my, Diane, that is one perilous attraction that I fear I could never negotiate and live to tell the fear of it. Someone had a lot of free time, a creative and busy mind and a lot of whimsy to come up with such a tree house. Thanks for sharing the tales of what it is like to be inside and the details of the construction as well as this excellent image.

WOW...now that is a place I would love to live in. All I have to say is...don't show my son this tree house. He would want one just like it.

What an interesting image, and I wonder what the builder really had in mind? Kind of reminds me of the Winchester Mystery House in Calif. Kind of. =^..^=Tigs

You chose the perfect time of year to photograph this! An amazing work. If it is as unnerving as that, I may have to just watch from outside. Surroundings seem perfect for this structure. Great find.

Diane, your narrative makes it sound so inviting to explore. I'm surprised there's no developer trying to sell condo units in the place.
Nicely presented photo with good details. Thanks for exploring it for the rest of us. ~Wendell
