I had the great pleasure last Sat. to attend my grandson's graduation from the University of Michigan! It was a marvelous experience in many ways! The featured speaker was President Clinton! I also enjoyed his speech for a multitude of reasons! The core of his message to us, was that of 'Citizenship', in which he covered all of the things you might imagine he would. The simple thought that I took from his talk was his question to the audience, "Globally, do our differences matter more than our common humanity"? I am sure that many of you follow in my footsteps, with a resounding NO! If so, our behavior toward others must exemplyfy this, do you agree? Let us take care of our injured vets returning from Iraq, let us unite our thinking in Health Care Reform, by providing insurance, for those who have none, by providing for the needy on our own front porch, and help to give attention to many other important issues, as I have mentioned only a few!! What do you think? Just a thought!!! Thank you, Marilyn

I had this today and was impressed enough to give it a ten. I should have known, it was made by you. I really should have ... I love this soft feeling of this flower, even the color is that intensive.

Very beautiful flowers and such lovely thoughts and words from you. So, one thing at a time : The flowers are excellent, the green background gives them an extra boost in beauty. As for your kind words, Marilyn, prejudices and selfishness come with our heritage and have been handed down over centuries by all generations. They are certainly less now than they were in the middle ages and who knows ? One day the human being will become wiser and learn to live in tolerance and to care for the needy and under-privileged. But it won't be in our time!

Absolutely stunning Marilyn. The magnificent colouring and detail make this more like a work of art rather than a photo.
Exceptional job my friend, thanks for sharing, Don

Wonderful post and the coloring is so fab. I have added this to my favs. It would have been better to have a large download size. I think your comments were well said too BTW. I'm not a big clinton fan but sounds like he gave a nice speech. So glad you enjoyed your day. > . ♫ :)sandi ♪

After a bit of an absence, partly vacation but mostly tax season...busy for bookkeeping businesses... I'm glad to be back out here with at least 'some' regularity. I've missed everyone and am glad to have a little more time again.

I think the dahlia is lovely and I think we should bring our troops home so they will no longer be injured or killed because those who call themselves our leaders put them in harms way for a reckless, irresponsible and unforgiveable war upon an innocent people who want nothing more than to live their lives in peace in their own unoccupied country just the way we do.
That is recognition of our common humanity and in God's eyes, no, our differences don't matter at all. We have been enjoined to love our neighbors as ourselves and those Iraqi folks are our neighbors. Our leaders are not those who desire public office, but those who are pressed into service for the good of all because they are diplomats, statesmen and humanitarians, not haughty, demagogic, hubristic, selfish and greedy men as we have now. You asked and that's my opinion. Funny the Dalai Lama, a man of peace has most of the letters of the dahlia in the first part of his calling.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
