While in the woods.. on this day...my surroundings were so beautifully quiet and peaceful...I was very happy to have had my camera....with me...A very nice day..indeed! This scene was taken immediately following our big snowfall of the yr.. in MI...On the floor of the woods laid a carpet of pure white snow...one could see the tracks of many animals who had visited there before...me....the deer tracks especially... are exciting to me...as I think deer photograph nicely and especially with a contrast of white snow as a background...Enjoy..and thank you... Marilyn

This is very lovely Marilyn!..the casting light and shadows leave the image picturesque...and those reflections duplicate the beauty that is very enjoyable!....The wintry scene would look at home on a postcard

Great choice of daylight, the angle filled so much blue into the picture than it would have with the sun high overhead. I liked how you framed the stream, and how fluffy and rounded the snow looks.

Excellent contrasts and composition and some wonderful blue-white snow colours. If it comes up in the VB for me, it's getting a 10.

Your picture gives that wonderful winter outdoor freshness feel. Wonderful whites, blues, and blacks. And, absolutely perfect reflections in the stream. Very well done!

Hi Marilyn, Your picture portrays the nicer side of winter. If winter was always like this I would not complain. Thank you for sharing.

This is beautiful and I am so jealous. Most of the UK had snow today except where I am :( I love the light on the snow through the trees. Again its beautiful my friend.

Lovely capture. I hope your toes didn't get too cold getting this shot. No snow here just cold temps. It was 19 this morning when I went to work. Nice job and I hope your holidays were good.

Hello Marilyn...This picture seems to have awakened the excitement of the child in me at waking and finding it has snowed last night..... The clarity of thought and purpose in this shot is absolutely wonderful....Marilyn,this image is certainly spot on when it comes to properly and accurately capturing nature in it's boundless white glory.....Well done....All the best....Mick.

Hi Marilyn, it's me...lol.

Great photo indeed, I like the way you have taken this, with the river leading you into the photo, thats great composition, good colour, and I like the reflections of the trees in the river.

Kind regards,

and a very 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'
