This library is one of the most beautiful structures in Ephesus. It was built in 117 A.D. It was a monumental tomb for Gaius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, the governor of the province of Asia; from his son Galius Julius Aquila. The grave of Celsus was beneath the ground floor, across the entrance and there was a statue of Athena over it. I took this on holiday a couple of weeks ago. (hope you Like!)

This is one of the best pictures of Ephesus I have seen, if not the best. This place was so important in the time of Jesus, a center of learning and probably the incubator of many profound ideas that came out of that era. On top of that, you don't have any light blast! Wonderful pic, thanks!

Oh my gosh Mark,I got shivers up my spine when I saw this photo!
How magnificent!! I would so love to be at this place and literally dream for hours. It is amazing. I am so happy I have a new computer, it is so clear...and I am seeing postings so much better. I love all the people in this photo..the cameras, and I've always loved arches. But this wonderful building, well, it makes me flutter inside...A most awesome, or as I would say, wicked good, photo!!
