I love the Trevi. You did pretty well at getting a shot without people -- and in midday! I had to stand above everyone to do that. I like your perspective here. I would have cropped out the person's arm on the right bottom corner.
Hey, thanks for the comment, to tell you the truth, that arm or I think head actually, has not shown up in any of my other pictures or prints of this picture.. weird.. but glad you liked it!
If I may be so bold ... some further cropping could elminate some of the extraneoous here. There isn't much distraction from the star of your image ... really ... but, as mentioned the head and one person in the background ... to the right of the shadow ... would be where I would start the crop.
I wouldn't want to see you lose that portion of the blue sky as it does provide some nice colour contrast. But if you were so bold ... I think the end result might be interesting in a monochromatic kind of, sort of way.
Or ... punch up the colours some ... and this goes from good to very good. It's slightly washed out in some highlight areas on the fountain sculptures. But kudos for shooting under very harsh and divergent light conditions.
The way that you have composed this one is the stellar element in my mind. Extremely well-balanced. Nice work.
And of course ... thank you for sharing your efforts and talents. :o)
I love to see great buildings that are built to enhance their surroundings. This building really does that here. I love waterfall pictures as well. Great eye and thanks for sharing!
I was looking for pictures of Trevi Fountain, and found yours. Great shot. I agree...it's the best place in Rome. We were there at night, and it was like a college party atmosphere. I have no picstures of the fountain...only videos. Bummer.
