The name “colobus” is derived from the Greek word for “mutilated,” because unlike other monkeys, colobus monkeys do not have thumbs. They are only found in East Africa. It rarely descends to the ground and uses branches as trampolines, jumping up and down on them to get liftoff for leaps of up to 50 feet. I had to climb a large tree to about 100 feet and jump across a ravine to get this shot. Well not quite..!

Poor guys! No thumbs, those poor babies have to use pacifiers instead of their thumbs, lol. This is a great shot and worth the climb and jump across the ravine risking certain death ;)

The right hand and the left arm and the head of the animal makes points of intrest in a diamond shape....I really like that....and the clarity is wonderful.
