First atempt, eh? I call you a liar...because that's a spectacular shot! You've done very well here...but I do have one critique. Due to the long exposure to capture the movement of the water, you've lost the vividness of the colors, leaving you with an overall gray feeling image. A bit of fiddling in Photoshop with the contrast, colors, and levels would leave you with the beautiful water, while bringing back the vivid surroundings that your eye saw as it scanned over the stream...which would make a very good image excellent!

You did an excellent job of time exposing the water. That slow shutter did the trick. Bravo, lovely shot. You can improve this image quite a bit in Photoshop or equiv. You might want to work a bit on the levels to deepen the contrast in the moss and rocks. I think you'd be pleased with the results.

I think that this photo is soft and the exposure is very good to have achieved that effect with the water. The comp could have been improved some in my humble opinion.

Thanks guys for your comments. I have redone the photo in photoshop and added a bit more colour etc. Id agree with you Tomeast on the comp. Looking at it now I would have liked the photo moved over to the right so that the boulder on the right hand side isnt cut off. Let me know how you would have it changed. Id be interested to know.
Thanks

You probably did the best you could with the comp on this, otherwise, you would most likely have had to be standing in the water. Its not always easy to explain why or what should have been done to improve the comp in a certain photo.I may have moved to the left and down, to get the water fall in.Then again a move to the right with a better look upstream might have done it for me.Its subjective, remember and just my opinion. Its a very well taken photo with alot of good qualities.
