got this one today, it lookedlke it had some detail so i put it up. i usually don't have great luck with male cardinals.

Oh, indeed, he has a LOT of detail...even to the dark tip of his beak (has he been into some berries, maybe?). I like the shadows moving across him, yet keeping his head and eyes clear. Good capture.

Excellent shot Mike! A lot of detail and the branches are perfect focus as well. I'm really wondering if it IS a male. He's not really a bright red. More of an orangish color. Its so chubby it just might be a female!..lol

yeah, it is a male. he is so chunky because he eats 7 lb. of bird seed each week. (some help from his fellows)
