Wonderful reflections in the water. I love the color blue and I love cityscapes. Your picture has both and that might be why I liked it so much!

Brilliant! I crave shots like this one. As a wallpaper it works so well because of large blocks of colour, but as a standalone photo it is also top class. Can you reveal anything about the photo like shutter speed, aperture, lens used and any post processing done to bring out those fantastic blues. Well done. Downloaded and favs.

Very nice night shot. Very sharp with pleasant reflections on the water. Although I like the strong blue of the sky, I find that there is a lot of "negative space" and that the photo could look even better from a tighter cropping.

But surely a bit of negative space is good for the wallpaper aspect... as this site would have you believe. But I agree, for a print and hang on your wall type image... I'd go thin-strip panoramic.

ISO 100, 4 Sec Exposure, F8.0, @ 18.0mm

No post-processing, I toyed with sharpening it but ended up leaving it at the shot setting (picture style of Landscape, sharpness set at 4).

I used the Rebel Xti Kit lens (18-55) which rarely comes out of my bag except for when I don't have room with my 50/1.8 or 70-200/4. Once I held up the 12x18 print (the negative space works very well in my opinion) I found new respect for the lens.

Forgot to mention that the camera was a Rebel Xti, mounted on a tripod, with mirror lockup and remote switch.

Thanks for that. Very informative. As a learning amateur I would welcome camera settings info on all items in the "photography" section.

I only remember it when somebody asks. Since getting a DSLR in February every picture I look at now I ask myself the same question "what settings?"
