I like the simplicity of this photo Mike. The lamp shines with clarity against the background pattern & colour. The bottom green colour somehow looks just right. I admire your photography ability, and thanks!

I have been asked to comment on this. The C-index is a little harsh, but... The composition is awkward, the lamp is a little too close to the right and cropped tight at the top and its slightly off vertical angle feels wrong. The touch of foliage in the foreground works well, adding interest, but perhaps more could have been made of that. The background when enlarged is a little noisy, and a blur would have reduced that and yet kept the vague building shapes which work well.

I have to agree with most of "coram9"s comments 15mins in Photoshop would have made all the difference. That said I can see what you had in mind when taking the shot. Keep up the good work.

I'll just agree with coram, it's a very complete anlaysis. That said the c-index is harsh, this photo needs to be appreciated for its abstract qualities.
