Photographed from a water taxi on the Grand Canal, Venice. This is my first post using the PNG format as all previous uploads have been JPEGS. I look forward to your comments and as always, thank you for looking.
A Place I have never been, but have seen many images through members of our camera club!...The blue of that water is pulling my eye!...I was always told it was 'murky' (Brown) water there....

No tourists at this time of the year! Very nice capture of the canal view Doug. I have tried PNG also but found no great difference between both unless you magnify the image.
Doug, as you may know: all my images are uploaded in the PNG-format. The comparison with JPEG isn't possible as this version of your image isn't available on Caedes. To determine the difference in quality, I've created both versions of some of my images on my computer. After comparison, on the one hand, I see clearly the difference, but, on the other hand, I must add that - by the Caedes upload limits - the quality of the PNG-image on Caedes is reduced.
What I see now is a very clear and detailed image of a scene of one of the famous cities of the world. Very well done my friend.

Very well done, good color, and angle for this take. I have heard too that the png does not seem to make much difference on Caedes, but I always post mine in the png as well. tigs =^..^=
If they asked me to park one of these beauties Gibbs, I would have to punt. :) A Red Neck Gondolier is not a pretty sight. However, this photo sure is.
Very nice photography and the angle you took this shot from is amazing with stunning colours and great sharp detail .This is a photo of outstanding beauty and I love the row of blue gondolas .Plus the light in this capture is out standing and I love the blue water then you have the blue sky showing too.Yes one perfectly balanced photography .I save my photo as jpgs but post as PNG it keeps detail in the shot so they say ?
So this is the view you have when you're riding in the water taxi - simply stunning!!! Beautifully composed - spectacular architecture and colors. Excellent work Doug!!!
at first glance without my glasses i though it said granola parking, i thought to myself...how does one park a granola? well the answer is between your chops Doug :)
i do like the colorful yet subtle daytime approach you lefted us to view. sometimes a little goes along way. myself i do tend to over cook this in the FDR over way too much.
im still trying to figure out the PNG Caedes theory, most start from a jpg so its been compressed in the camera & there for cannot be undone, i shoot Raw, process Raw, then save to a png, that way when Caedes adds it to your gallery, they compress it one time to a jpg. less quality is lost with only one compression..or so it seems. thats my take on the theory anyways, im sure i will be corrected my someone.
Nice shot. Although the only thing aside from the gondola's that come to mind about Venice is when the historic opera house burnt down some years ago. It was heartbreaking to watch the video of that.
Wow Doug, this is so beautiful - brings back wonderful fun field holidays. Excellent composition and such amazing colours. I feel like I'm right there.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
