The Crocodile River here form the border between Marloth Park (Komatipoort, South Africa) and the Kruger National Park.On the on the "other side" of the river is the Park.
Wow. You packed a lot into one photo. Quite a panarama. It's one thing to see these places on TV. It's quite another to know we now have a Caedes member who actually lives there and can bring us "choice" pics. Please keep them coming.

Hello Marietha.....I must say this is quite stunning....you have captured the inspiring scenery at a great angle.... we photographers usually take landscape pictures at a head-height perspective that we are all unconsciously accustomed to.....By simply getting low to the ground or going high like you have done can improve the results and make ones photo stand out.....Well done...All the best...Mick..
Hi Marietha, I am very very very grateful for this picture.
A place so far from home, but also very familiar.
How come? I have read many books by Wilbur Smith, and this is exactly the type of landscape that he describes so often in his books!
And now I finally get to see it for real. And it looks so unspoiled, rough and wild, it get's me all excited!
Thanks, there is nothing more you do please me, I'll park this into my favourites.
Paul
Ahh, Paul has taken the thoughts from my mind and added the enthusiasm I feel for this shot as well.
You have literally become our visual correspondent for your area of the world. Really nice shot here Marietha. It is quite the scene and you have captured the essence in addition to the expansiveness. Well done. :o)
The first ... the first book ... I ever, ever read ... was Frank Buck's "Bring'em Back Alive." A compilation of (perhaps not so politically correct nowadays) his exploits and stories in capturing animals for zoos. My appetite for reading has never been quenched since.
But ... but now, I get to see the land of which he wrote and that is a gift, as well as a welcomed drink to sooth my parched visual palate ... from you. Thank you.
