Spot the 2 Lizzards......Just a little bit of information.....The Tropic of Capricorn runs through the Kruger Park. This is a huge rock next to the road right ON the Tropic of Capricorn. The Tropic of Capricorn, or Southern tropic, is one of the five major circles of latitude that mark maps of the Earth. It lies 23° 26′ 22″ south of the Equator, and marks the most southerly latitude at which the sun can appear directly overhead at noon. This event occurs at the December solstice, when the southern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun to its maximum extent. On the map here you can see where the Kruger Park is situated in South Africa too.

That's it! I'm living in the wrong hemisphere. I'm a Capricorn and belong where it's warm and sunny in the winter!!

Course I'd like to be where it's warm and sunny in the summer too, so perhaps I got a little over enthusiastic there..lol..

Love the information and the lizards were hard for me to spot.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Found the lizards! The rock sign is quite interesting, Marietha. Thanks for providing so much information to locate us in the park where you and your mom take such wonderful photos and to locate us latitudinally as well.

Beautiful pic and info Marietha! Only one thing: it would be nice to include an object or a person in the frame to serve as scale. Well done, all the same!

the sun's rays strike the earth vertically on only one day of the year, dec. 21. on this day in 2012, the earth will also be perfectly in line with the sun, and the center of the milky way galaxy, for the first time in exactly 26,000 years. sorry.. a bit off topic but this just got me thinking... thanks for sharing this pic.. some very interesting information!
