this was inspired by Darryn (dmk) with some of his pics of rural kids.. this one i took on a day out to a school's year end function in one of the rural villages about 60km out of town... "people" is quite a new subject for me,but i just loved Darryn's rural kids and thought i'll give it a go.. comments please.. and help with how i can get it better.. thanx in advance

Well Marietha, firstly i am really glad that my pics inspired you and secondly i think this is an awesome shot! You have captured it wonderfully and i think i may need to come to you for lessons :P

Marietha, capturing portraits isn't that easy and I know by own experience that it's not highly valuated by the voters at Caedes. Glad you've captured en posted this one though. To me it's a great portrait. Tells without words more than a book!

For being new to People photos you have a knack for finding the moment that catches a glimpse of personality and depth rather than just a snapshot. Sure I see 'shy' but there's also a glint of determination and mischief.
