You want to be careful who you buy from - these definitely look like embroidered slippers or maybe embroidered baskets to me. Beautiful, but not very good for stretching out on with the cat in front of a radiator.
Maybe you could wear the slippers and put the cat in a basket - that would work. I'm not sure Trading Standards covers this sort of case otherwise...
