i like it. i think so editing might help, though i'm not sure what u should do. try changing the color a little or bringing out dark spots.

I like winding trails through the forest and have found them to be difficult to shoot sometimes. This image has the potential of being a great one. I think that tbhunter, above, has some good ideas. I would also like to add a couple of suggestions, in that, try shooting the path right from the edge of the path and let it lead you into the image. Try to eliminate as many hot spots as you can and then let the path add mystery and beauty to the image.
You have the right idea about your choice of subjects. Keep shooting and you have a good eye.
