In 2004 my mother, who recently passed away, went to Australia to visit my uncle who has lived there for 30 years. They spent a couple of weeks touring parts of Oz, parts of New Zealand, and took a ferry to Tasmania. Mom brought some beautiful digital photos back with her! This is one of them. I'm calling it jewel rapids, because I don't know the actual location, and because the facets on the rocks look like the beveled edges of gem stones to me.

This is fantastic! I am sorry for your loss but how wonderful to have her memories to post for everyone to see. I agree with what you say about the jewels. It makes you think about how much force this river can rush with to carry all those huge boulders down stream. I love the way the movement and hurriedness of the river has been caught. Thanks for sharing :)

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom i trust". Psalm 91: 1 and 2
