Very nice image, although it is a shame about the rather ugly metal fence on the right, it doesn't fit in at all. I'm assuming this was only a temporary thing, were they doing some construction or something?
Yeah, you learn to tak the construction and cleaning as a given as you pass through Europe! I could have cropped it out - but didn't want to destroy the balance of the picture.
Wow.. Brilliant Photo! There seems to be a bit of a surreal tone to it. It also seems as if the foreground is in focus, the people sitting on the steps aren't, and the tower is.. (I'm not even sure if that's right, but it looks pretty awesome!) Good shot!
The Trocadero is one of the well-designed spots in Paris. The metal fence on the right has been there for quite some time, and is likely to be there for even longer. It's hiding some construction I believe. Parisiens understand the need for modernization (take the Pompadou Center - please!), but they also understand the need to conceal it from the city's aesthetic.
You might want to straighten out the image and re-upload it. The tower is leaning a little to the left - or is this actually Pisa :-)
Thanks all. And thanks to Regmar for his response. I especially like the care that Parisiens take on sides of buildings that are going through upgrades. Much nicer then the way we set up construction sites in most cases.
