Don't know what kind of fly this is ... don't much care. Do know this guy pestered me unmercifully, intent upon exploring the tunnel that runs non-stop between my ears. Took this shot when it rested a moment. Then grabbed the fly swatter. Briefly entertained the thought of a second shot after welding him to the business end of the swatter. But I'm not really into "abstract art" ... and take my word for it ... HE WAS ABSTRACT !

HaHaHa, John - I love the commentary! As for the photo, it's superior also. That shadow is in same clear detail as his body. I enjoy the texture of the wood going off each side. Well done, you fly killer, you! ;))

Great shot, love the detail and clarity. But you're so mean! You took his picture and then swatted him?! How rude!

Do you mean to tell me, this is his last picture? Do you mean to tell me you sent him to fly heaven? Do you mean to say that you splattered him all over creation? Ohhhhhhhh, the sadness of it all. Where's the SPCA? I ain't never.....

My thanks for all the above comments ... very much appreciated on this and any of my humble postings;

Special thanks to Jessica for making me come to terms with some "meaness & rudeness" issues. I've made a therapy appointment scheduled for next week. :o)

To Pat ... you "ain't never" what ? ... used a fly swatter? Don't tell me you use the shotgun for flies as well. Must play havoc with the interior decor ... No ? :0)

Ah, the last breath of a fly you could call it then.
I am no fan of killing any kind of spieces of the living world and do not posess a swapper eihter.

On my last holliday in Swiss, it was very hot and cooled of in a lake, after a swimm, i rested on a submerged bolder.
Once of a sudden, i saw some insect floating by, on its back struggling in the water.
I placed quiet slowly my hand underneath the insect in the water, and throught him
on the grass behind me, it flew away in an instant.
Resque succeeded.
One minute or so later, i feld a very acking pain in the back of my neck !
I got stiched very hard, and got a big bult out of it, strawberry red to !
I am not sure, but or it was the same insect i resqued just yet, if so then there is no justice,
at that time i wished i had the biggest forehammer, i would have blasted that darn thing to bits !!!

Sorry for the long text, back to your image, it worked out great, very sharp all details are visable, thanks for the posting !
