My first ever halfway decent shot of a bird "in flight".

My exuberance led me to write a poem about the "event"
I wanted to title this posting "Shadowed Wings" but had second thoughts. (See Below)

SHADOWED WINGS

A ghostly bird neath azure sky,
It's shadowed wings did catch my eye,
With fingers trembling dare I try?
To capture beauty on the fly,

The shutter clicks, my mouth runs dry
Then from my lips a nervous sigh
And a whispered prayer ... I don't deny
I press "review" ... and nearly cry

And then a Voice ... from Heavens High
T'was HIM and I cringed at HIS reply ...

"HEY MUGGSY ... GIVE IT A REST ... WILL YOU GUY?"
"IT'S JUST A SEAGULL FLYIN' BY ...

NO BIG DEAL ... YOU PRETENTIOUS TWIT"

(*So much for my exhuberance*)

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

Well, well....ya done good, baby. I sent that bird by but he failed to fulfill his mission. I wanted him to do a "straffing run" on ya. Durn it! Your getting deadly with that camera. great capture.

I love the poem and its a great shot.
Just a seagul flyin by maybe but a perfect capture :)
I love the shadows.

I am always struck by the difference in 'your' gulls and our 'gulls'

And Muggsy said,"here, look my Lord!
I am at home and awful bored.
Gimme a chance to please 'em all,
and hold on a while before you call.

Great shot of the bird, John and you have pleased us all with this one.

Great poem and shot! Not JUST a seagull - your seagull and the first shot of that for you. So awesome! I love the shadows his wings cast on his body.
