A White-Crowned Sparrow ... NOT to be confused with a White-Throated Sparrow or in this case an NFL Official regretting having the "coin toss" over a tray full of seed. :o)
Let me be the first to comment John. I would say Royalty by that look on his face. Very sharp photo as usual and well framed. He looks well- fed, no wonder!
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Not any Royalty but a kind of playboy-sportsman !!!
Look at his eyes [definitely his !]
LOL
Fascinating image, dear John.
PS: what you took for the crown has been an ordinary baseball cap ... LOL

I don’t think you can beat nature shots where there are no people. It’s so magical how nature’s colors can overwhelm you and there are just no words that can describe your thoughts. I love the framing your did. This will make a great desktop. Thanks for sharing!
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Well Muggsy, aren't we becoming the professional birdie photographer. Saw this in the VB and figured it was egggray's so I gave it top billing. Had I known it was yours, I would have.....just kidding. This is gorgeous. You have really progressed fast in a short period of time. Congrats. This is a keeper of course.

What a wonderful post John and framed in such a terrific way. The clarity and colors are perfection and it's def a keeper. Outstanding work, just magnificent. Thanks for this one.
Please know that I enjoy your work even though I don't always have time to comment. I try to look at all the new posts and always appreciate your stopping by my gallery. Have a happy day ;) Anita

Let me start that, i am totaly not confused by the White-Throated Sparrow.
This is clearly a White-Crowned Sparrow !
(if you say so, hehe he :-)
Although the shot is clear and just gorgous John, i wonder about the frame a little.
Was this needed, what is been covered up ?
The image looks so clean and natural, that in fact i find the border a little distracting ?
Besides this remark, i trust your judgement, and would have given it a 10 out of 10 if it came along in the voting booth though ! :-)
Very great shot muggsy, I like the clarity and the framing too, it hides a little the less nice surroundings and it focusses more on the beautiful bird! Very well done!

Sorry I am late commenting John, this is for sure one of your best, and all that fancy frame work..WOW, you are getting good my friend, I like how Pat thought it was one of mine...logs off off, runs around in circles, looks for an old bird photo to frame...LOL.
Haven't made a decision on the framing edge.. but look at that eye! It is as if you can just feel that bird deciding which seed to pick up next! How rare to get such a shot of a bird that there is a feeling of expression in the eye! This is fantastic and was savewd right into my bird pics slide show!
