Hello my friends, long time ... no post. Missed all of you at Caedes. Recently I was priviledged to spend a week at a friends cabin in the Adirondacks of New York. A memorable week for me, filled with photographic opportunity. Beautiful Autumn colors, plenty of wild life and in particular ... BIRDS, my favorite subjects to capture. In the days to come I will share some of what I hope you'll agree are post-worthy efforts. This is a male Purple Finch caught on a somewhat unusual perch.

I'm beginning to feel more comfortable with the Nikon D80 purchased last year ... I'm hoping it shows in my posts from here on. Thanks for any comment and please enjoy.

Great colours and sharpness and the background is blurred well (the sky, I see). Good to see you back, John.

Stunning shot, John. The clarity is sensational. I think the D80 is a keeper as is this amazing purple finch. Good to see you back.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

This is a real beauty, John. As you have enjoyed my shorebirds, I have equally enjoyed your small, colorful birds. Thanks so much for sharing this true work of art :)
