Like Owd Bob, I've been stalking the scrub pine cones around here... it's thoroughly amazing how nature imitates itself again and again... the same design appears in sunflowers.

Wow, those are really pretty! I love their colour, and the little white blooms. I imagine this isn't anything edible. I see the little aunt likes it too. So happy you took this photo, I too have never even heard of this plant. Wonder where all it grows...Nice photo indeed. Verena
