Well, now he is offering you a profile pose. Isn't that nice of him? LOL. Excellent shot, Ed.

Didn't have any trouble now to recognize the woodpecker at once Ed, lol.
It's amazing to me how you've succeeded in capturing it.
Well done!

That lens is working wonders for you Huck. He suspects someone or something is watching him. Very nice capture.

As I was looking at this on my screen, just below was Jimbob's avitor flashing between a xmas tree and him wearing a red santa's hat. Well when I looked at the woodpecker I could almost imagine it wearing a little red santa's hat too, but with the white pom pom missing!!! lol I like how you have the woodpecker in between the V shape of the branches and the blue sky background too. Lovely image indeed. Well done!

Nicely composed in the branches and the blue sky. I wish there was a little more light on him, but that red head still comes across very well.

Nicely done. I would have preferred to see a little more brightness on the bird, but it's a nice composition all in all.

I have a lot of these birds here lately and they are actually feeding on my bird feeders. Of course I took out two huge old birch trees this summer, so I may have left them out in the cold, so to speak, as far as grub goes.
