A blue heron on a cypress knee. I would have liked to get a little closer on this, but i didn't want to go for a swim. This was shot at 850mm & cropped. - Panasonic DMC FZ18 -

Very nicely captured Ed ... I don't think I would have wanted to get wet either. I like how the logs in the foreground lead to the blue heron. Wonderful lighting & composition too.

This is one of my favorite of this series. The cypress knees are great and the subject is framed naturally. Gives the feeling of ambush or something. Really cool. Thanks.

Are you sure Ed that this capture is taken on Earth and not in Paradise? (lol)
Another great post in this series my friend!

What a good shot this is Ed. I like how he has his head turned, like he was listening to something or watching something. I think this one is very good. =^..^=Sandi

Is a Cypress knee anything like an arthritic knee? LOL. I have one but not the other...guess which one I have. Right. Very nice shot of that heron. I have never seen one this color up here. I like all the knees in there, as well as the colors in the image. Nice lighting, too. Good work, Ed.

This is really one of your best Huck. I like the cypress knees in the foreground with the light and shadows. The heron doesn't have a clue you are around. That lens works wonders.

Gosh, at that distance, I'm surprised that you even saw him there! lol I like the spikey images in the foreground. Looks like you were 'sneaking' this shot.
