While on a walkabout the other day i found this Gopher trying to cross a busy road. I waited for the traffic to pass and carried him across the road. When i got him to the other side all he did was try to cross the road again, So i carried him back, and then after almost a 1/2 hour of hunting around the woods i found his burrow. When i set him down he was in a big hurry to get in that hole. I guess he found out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. ==Panasonic DMC FZ18==

I did the same thing once ... rescued a turtle, but soon found it was a snapping turtle. Excellent detail & the grassy textures sets the turtle off nicely. Fantastic post Ed.

Three Finger Johnson saved a lot of turtles in his day. Some experiences were good, some weren't. Turtle probably was disoriented from moving at warp speed when your were packing him back and forth Huck. He probably figured he was in a soup.

Nice capture in the pine needles.

Splendid narrative Ed and a wonderful comment of OFT (Owd Fellow Tick). Doesn't amaze me that turtles aren't polite. This one didn't even say 'Thanks' to you for all the effort you've done, lol! Very nice capture too my friend.

He he, that's funny. I would hate to be the driver of the car that had to wait on him in the road. LOL. Great shot of that monster, Ed. We don't see very many Tortoises on this site. Good work.
