This female Cardinal turned her head just as i fired off this shot. The male i posted yesterday landed on a branch above and she had to look up to see what it was. I learned not to look up when a birds overhead unless your wearing a hat(Safety First). I thought the thumbnail looked like a bird wearing a party hat. ==Panasonic DMC FZ50==

She didn't fly away at the sound of him landing. She must have sensed him up there. It's actually an interesting pose. A great shot. If only that little branch weren't there.

It does look like a party hat & I don't think I've seen a bird with it's head rotated that much. Wonderful capture Ed ... great detail.
