Ed I really like the duck with the top notch on his head. Super lighting and colours with such detail and clarity. Wonderful capture.

Ed, didn't know that even ducks followed the hair-fashion.
Think the duck at the right side don't either like it or is not impressed by it, lol.
Fine post again my friend.

I don't know, but that one on the left looks like an old spinster with that "Hair-Do." LOL. They are really nice looking ducks, Ed. Nice, well focused shot.

Those are library ducks Huck. JimboB is right about the spinster.
What a clear shot this one is. I don't think you disturbed them a bit. They are probably waiting on Dewey Decimal to show up. Great post.

I like the one on the left with the little pompom on the head. Good clarity here, Ed. I don't think you disturbed the snoozing ducks.

Beautiful ducks...Not sure what kind they are either...but they are pretty. Someone needs to tell the one on the left that the beehive went out years ago.

This is a lovely capture of these two dozing ducks! I think the one on the left is called a Crested Duck or A Crested Blue. Either way I always think they look like they have a little hat on and they look funny! Like the colours and lighting in this capture. Well done!

They are called Crested Ancona Ducks. Our park has a black one and a white one and they look like poodles.

Nice picture Ed. I like the green and brown background that makes these ducks stand out.

As for the type of ducks, you won't find these in your bird book, they are not a wild breed, but instead flightless domestics.

I have raised ducks and shown them in large poultry shows, so I will give my best educated guess that these are mixed breeds, I can tell that they are both part Indian Runner, but not pure Indian Runners. The one of the left has definitely got some Crested mixed in. The top notch is not a full crest, indicative of mixed breeding. The one on the right, Indian Runner and something else, could have been the Crested again but he didn't grow the crest.
Thanks for sharing!

They are different. I like the soft simple colors they have. I lived in Florida for 31 years and have seen some ducks, but these take the cake. Nice work.
