I followed this butterfly around for a while yesterday waiting for it to land. This was the way it landed for about 3 seconds then it was gone again. It must be a young stunt pilot out on his first flight.

Know by own experience that it's very hard to make a good capture of a butterfly in open nature. To me you've succeeded in doing this very well Ed. Great and detailed post to me (can even see that it hasn't rolled out yet its curled tongue, indicating that it has just landed). Done very well!
Regards, Cornelius.

Very good clarity and beautiful colours on the butterfly, Ed. It is good that he landed on his back (rather rare landing!) because the other side of his wings may not have been so beautiful.

It makes me think of a cat burgler, trying to scale the wall of a building with a rope or cable or something. It could be bungee jumping too. Excellent shot of the stunt butterfly, Ed. Another job well done.

Another very clear shot Huck. Have you purchased some new equipment? Very good shot with only a three second window.
