Huh?? A What?? I thought they said Gloria or Rosia Roths Childrens Lily. Oh Well!! It's also known as the Climbing Lily or Flame Lily. I've had these strange looking flowers growing in my yard for over 30 years. I didn't have a clue what they were till I spotted them at a plant nursery the other day. Have a great Weekend.

Great capture of a Gloriosa Rothschildiana Lily, aka Gloria or Rosia Roths Childrens Lily (smile), or Climbing or Flame Lily.
Anyhow an excellent F² (Foofy Friday) post Ed. Well done!

Great shot Ed. If you are ever digging any up to thin them up, I will give them a home. They truly do look like a flame. Those would be a fine eye-catcher for any garden.

Must be the Lily of the Vault as opposed to the valley Huck. It should do good with the voters. You can bank on it. It sure has some fiery colors. Good F² post.

I have never seen a lily like this one, but would love to have a few for my garden! I love the color, and it does look like shooting flames. I wonder if it does well in cooler places (NY) I think I will go look it up....Great capture, it's really cool.

Ok, I just looked it up and the lily likes the warm weather, it can't stay in the ground if it gets below 25 degrees in winter. I guess that's why a lot of us have not seen one before. Thanks for share it with us, it truly is a beautiful shot, better than the one I just saw online.

This is a really clear shot of this beauty. Its amazing what we find out about our surroundings after so long, but just shows you that even in our back gardens there can still hold a surprise or two. Lovely colours too. Well done!
