I found this growing by the information center near the river. They were closed so I don't have a clue what it is. It's Purdy though. ---Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ50--- Have a Great Weekend -----EDIT- It's a Swamp Hibiscus, Scarlet Rose Mallow, Texas Star, Scarlet Hibiscus (Hibiscus coccineus)

Ed, If I'm correct this beautiful flower is a Hibiscus. The stamen kind of gives me the clue. Beautiful color and detail capture. ♪ ♫ :)sandi♪ =^..^=

Ed, think Sandi could be right as it seems to be a species of the Hisbiscus indeed. Beautiful image anyhow with wonderful tones. Very good work!

It could be a hibiscus although the leaves look very different. Whatever it is, you have done a fine job here Ed. The colour is marvellous and the clarity very good.

What a beauty Huck. A Hibiscus Texas Rangerette. She looks pretty fiery. I don't believe I would mess with her. Great F² post.
