A blind person will probably never make a good image as one's eyes have to do the main job. Of course a good camera can make the difference.
Think we see this situation here. We already knew that Kitty has good photographic skills, and she has proved it again. The difference here is not the composition but the very sharp and clear details.
My compliments to her Ed for this wonderful post.

You better sign Miss Kitty up like JimboB suggested Huck. I like how the wings are fully spread and it appears to be in the lift off mode. Clarity is perfect. Kudos to your wife.

Nicely composed, Ed. Colors are very rich.
It is amazing what green will do in soft light to bring out
the color in the subject.
