The rain let up long enough for me to go outside yesterday. Then I find this young Armadillo wandering around the yard. I followed him back to his home. (A very large hole dug under my shed). Last night I was awakened by a loud crash outside. I went outside to find a very large raccoon sitting on the table next to the cat food bowl. He just stared at me as to say Hey? I need more food over here. Great? Like I didn't have enough critters to feed.

When are you opening "Huck's Backyard Zoo.?" I think oysters on the half shell would be more tasty in your part of the world.
Good capture of the possum with armor.

I don't think I have ever seen one of these posted before, and sure have not seen one for real! They are so unique looking, what a a good find. I'm not sure if your having the the drought that we are, but the animals are getting hard up to find food around here. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I thought these guys lived only in Texas. I'd be a might surprised to find one wandering across my lawn. Good capture, Ed. Are they very fast moving?

Think to see by its sniffing nose, that this 'little armored one' is searching for its pampatheriidae uncle, Ed, lol.

Wonderful capture!

Regards, Cornelius.

You may as well open a children's and adults' zoo at this rate Ed. A raccoon on the table outside and an armadillo just nosing about not to mention all the gaters just within walking distance! Very clear and sharp photo of this unusual visitor.

I doubt if one will ever show up in MY yard. As long as they don't bit, I wouldn't care if one DID show up here! I would just get the camera and snap away! Fantastic shot, Ed.

I once saw an Armadillo and a Opossum Fighting. After a while the Opposum was Dead and the Armadillo left.

After the Armadillo was gone the Opossum got up and walked away.

My dad said he was only........Playing Opossum. Live and Learn.

This brings back memories when my brother and I use to chase them, when we were really young, silly us.

Super capture of this little fellow, it's funny that the raccoon was wanting more food. At least your critters are a little smaller then ours
