A road is faintly detected in the shadows, curving to the right, leading directly into the sun. I would appreciate critiques on this image. Does it convey a sense of depth through leading lines, etc? How is the composition and focus?

This picture is meaningful to me; I consider its relationship to this verse: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105, KJB). The sun is a symbol of God's Word; its light shines brightly upon the path of my life, revealing to me God's perfect will.

Beautiful Naomi! His Word is indeed is a light unto our path. I love the colors you have captured here. I do not get a sense of depth, I think the lines maybe too soft, however I do think the soft focus and the composition are well done. Bravo!

The colors are beautiful and I am taken with the coordinating frame that leads you to the right. Amen.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Hey Naomi,
It is hard to believe that nothing is around, just snow and its sculptures,
I love how the cloud and sun almost reach each other,
The leading line to me definitely is the road, leading towards the sun,
Great composition

Thanks for sharing your beautiful landscapes

Hey Naomi, I saw the road very clearly and very clearly it leads directly into the light. I agree with cynlee that the frame also helps lead my eye to the source. It's a beautiful, stark image made more beautiful by the quoted text. It's also a testament to your faith that you can capture such beauty in such a barren place.

How lovely this view is, and it goes beautifully with your chosen verse. At first I thought this was the ocean, but than I could see the road you speak of and that bright glorious light. Nicely composed - I like the frame and how it guides us to the light. Your work is quite impressive Naomi, and thanks for sharing :))
