This was taken in Southern Illinois at Garden of the Gods recreational area, taken by my boyfriend. It is an amazing area full of cliffs created by an ancient ocean. It is a must see if you are ever in that area, expecially during the peak of fall.

I just love nature, it’s so beautiful on its own that you don’t have to do anything to it. What a wonderful post.

Great title for a very good photo. I'd love to visit this place someday. Thanks for sharing!

This is a beautiful and strange place...and I had no idea something like this was in Illinois. Part of the joy of Caedes is getting a window on the entire world. I can see that this viewpoint would be spectacular when the autumn colors are showing...and also probably full of people! Nice clear exposure, although I wish you had been able to take it in a higher resolution. Thinking about the view in the Fall, I wondered whether I wanted to see that wooden bridge full of people (too much distraction from those wonderful rock formations), yet in this exposure, perhaps just one person on the bridge would have given it some more scale. Can you go back someday with a more powerful camera and treat us to a closeup of those big monsters on the right?

This one is good.

The picture itself is very nice. The placement is good, and the lines of the staircases cause the eye to flow across the picture a couple of times. The colors are also good, as the green trees, and tan stairs, and gray rocks, and blue sky, all compliment each other nicely and provide good contrast. The only flaw I see with this picture, is the detail quality. Alot of it seems slightly blurred when you view the larger version, and there also seems to be tiny lines through several places, almost like it was distorted a little. It's a small flaw, and has little to do with the talent of the person taking the picture.

Awesome job! Keep it up!
