YEah, I had heard that if they are out in the day, theyre probably sick, but I looked him over really good, and he seemed ok. Some people had been off roading near by in the woods, so I thought maybe they freaked him out and he left his resitng spot.
Very cute. Very cute indeed, but for goodness sakes be careful! This little guys can be some of the most vicious little critters for their size. I used to know a guy who raised animals from babies and kept them as pets. He had a racoon, and a skunk, and two gray foxes, and all of them were as tame as good dogs. But he got a baby possum once, who's mother had been killed on the road, and he raised it from a baby, and it was never tame. It got meaner and meaner, and he had to let it go. Goodness, I've never seen a critter so cantankerous. I'm sure you didn't put your hand anywhere near enough for it to bite, just be careful. For a talented photographer to have their picture taking member bitten would be sad indeed.
But this is a good shot! I like it, and indeed he/she is a cute animal. Does look a little bleary eyed though. Probably had a rude awakening from the off-roaders. Keep it up!
