He didn't like my camera very much. I had to make it smaller, and post in black in white due to bad color and gritty quality. I had to share cuz he was adorable. =)
Particularly like what the eyes convey as they are most evocative.
Compositionally?
For me, and not knowing what was in frame or how you cropped this one.. the tree is a little too dominant. Simply put ... too much.
If at all possible, recropping and placing the eyes in the right-hand side with some space off to the left might work.
/\ Mention this as a suggestion only.
Typically, because of how 'we' view stuff ... left to right ... our eyes see those eyes and are arrested, and what is left to view ... is that of the tree. Thinking that the visual interest is not quite there with that element given the DOF you employed.
Insofar as 'rescuing' your photo with some post processing? Nice work.
... ...
... ...
Huh. Interesting. Just downloaded your image here and was going to mess around with it in Photoshop. And subsequently, the tonal range once the image was opened up ... is significantly better than what the site is displaying.
Anyways.. for another look, more so on the compositional stuff ... here you go.
That drivel of mine aside..
The only real caveat, in my humble opinion, is that of how you cropped and composed.
And to reiterate, you made some good good creative choices in your post processing and in turn, transforming your photo.
And ... the grain wasn't all that noticeable to my eyes at this resolution size. So, once again, nice work.
Nessa It a very cute image! The crop might be a little tight but I dont think it hurts the image at all. You have caught a very adorable image here! Paul
