A grasshopper overlooking our jobsite. He was sitting on the edge of our cofferdam looking into the excavated hole where the new KY Lock is being constructed.(cofferdam- is an enclosure within a water environment constructed to allow water to be pumped out to create a dry work environment. Commonly used for oil rig construction and repair, bridge and dam work, the cofferdam is usually a welded steel structure that is temporary and is typically dismantled after work is completed. Its components consist of sheet piles, wales, and cross braces.)

This kind of insect is most lovable !!!!
LOL
Quite funny how he [I suppose it is he ...] is watching or rather surveying the works. And he seems eager to run and help at a moment's notice. Simply can hardly stand still like a horse before races !!!
Great detail, dear SAN.

Looks like one of those critters exposed to radiation in those horrow movies of the '50s. A little exposure went a long way back then! lol. I do not know how you could have composed this better unless the grasshopper was a model you were paying! ~~ John

It looks like the lone survivor after a nuclear holocaust Nessa. Very symbolic.

Ok, you must have been laying down to catch such a super shot of this fellow because they are really fast. Great capture. Maybe he's one of the grasshoppers from It's A Bugs Life, lol.
