You've got a lot of good elements in this shot. The detail is there, no doubt, and the composition is very good as well. There's enough of a mix of water, rocks, and trees to keep everything balanced. All those elements are just as important (if not more) than the shot of the water itself.
Looks like you chose a great day for a hike that day (unfortunately, not the best for waterfalls!) If your purpose is to capture blurred water, the "just about to rain" or "just stopped raining" weather is the best. It allows for longer exposures and the damp weather really makes colors pop. If you're shooting long exposures on sunny days, it takes a bit of creativity with numerous filters, such as circular polarizers and neutral density filters. But, not every single water shot calls for longer exposures...depending upon the amount of water and/or speed of the water, you might not necessarily want a long exposure.
With that being said, I think you've got a nice shot, which still works well without a longer exposure. Next time its dreary out, head out to the same spot for some longer exposures and see which one you like better.
