Oh you're after my heart with this one, Nick! Well composed. Natural, restrained palette. You've posted good botanical macros before, but this one's a standout. It's pushing toward that borderland between realism and abstraction that, to me, is a most fascinating place.

Pixleslie put it very nicely. I too am enjoying this view, but for clarity's sake, I would have stepped back to get all of the stamens in clear focus and then cropped it in at the computer, but that's just me.

Lovely colors, and aren't columbines just one of the best for viewing?
