This is where I went yesterday and got some nice shots between the April showers. One was really brewing when I took this. Great name for a town isn't it, Walton on the Naze. I've never been anywhere with so many beach huts!

Looks good Sir Nigel. I saw these little buildings in some posts Ticking Spider had about the storm. Are these public are private? I love the sky. The dark sky against the light of the sand make a great contrast. Nice presentation.

I'll meet you at the edge of the sunlight, just behind the shadows. The Ghost

Hey Nigel,
Hard to decide if the first one was better or not, even putting them side by side. I think both have merit, and the crop job just brings this beautiful scene a little closer. Very nice, Nigel.

I'd rather be here, than where I'm at

The ominous clouds used as a backdrop certainly cast an eerie lighting on the entire scene. Colors pop, the sand fairly glows and life seems to have frozen. A very good capture, Nigel.

Hey Nigel, looks like you took advantage of those dark skies and sunshine too, as I did recently. Fabulous colour, lighting and composure.

I want the one right next to the ice cream shack. That one would do just fine.

Great photo, Nigel.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Peace is all around that photo: 2 kids playing on the beach while a violent storm is about to start. It's a nice allegory. And hat's off for the composition Nigel!

Excellent scene, Nigel. The boys seem to be getting instructions to stay near, with that storm about to hit! There is a lot of energy in this picture. The storm, the boys playing, people out and about. I also like the clash of the contrasting blues and greens. Very well done Nigel.

So much contrast in this photo. The contrast between the harsh sunlight just before the front moves in, in front of that menacing sky, is outstanding. The terraced effect pulls the eye down from the height and strength of the storm in the upper right to the shore and out to sea--another strong contrast between the busy, terraced village front and the sea empty of everything except waves. I just wish the focus was a little better. I'm assuming this was taken with a 4 to 5 megapixel camera?

I like the storm brewing in the sky! What are those little beach huts? Private or public? Very nice colors.
