Beautiful, Nathan! Just my color, deep red, too! You know, of course, that you'd make a wonderful jewelry designer and consultant. Anyone would love to have a line of fine jewelry with your name on it. Maybe, if you haven't already, you could tell how you make that lovely, swirly, marbled background.
This indeed would be a wonderful accessory to any elegant lady. Even though it seems large, it is not gaudy. It's subtle and deep, though beautiful and vibrant. You'd expect to see it upon a queen or princess of a forgotten age. Well done!
Hi Nathan.....your attention to detail as well as color..especially gradient coloring amazes me. The gold in this image appears to be filigree, the stone either ruby or garnet and the delicate pearls are the perfect touch to an already perfect image.
I would have never thought to place the design on the same muted color background.
The entire creation is elegant for sure and one that I would proudly wear with "designed by nmsmith" on my back!!!
To my favorites this goes.
Many thanks for sharing this with me :=)
I love your work Nathan.. and i've been following your "Jewellery collection" and I have to say this one is stunning.. the deep rich ruby colour (which is my favorite stone, the delicate filigree with the delecate chain and pearl would look fabulous.. when you decide to go into the Jewellery business let me know.. I'd love to buy this one.. ;)
The only problem with doing 3d in Photoshop is you have to watch edits really closely to get the proper shape like with the pearls. They look more conical than spherical because the size of the back light reflection is too large, it should be a narrower crescent shape. Also, according to the top light reflection, it'd appear that the light wasn't straight up, but slightly to the right (or a secondary light source coming from there), yet the pendant reflection is straight up, also the light reflection on the pendant should be smaller and "tighter" to simulate a polished stone; where currently it looks closer to semi-gross, or unfinished stone. Also, the reflection on the "gold" should be much higher. Currently it looks more like oxidized brass as there is no sharp specularity (the light reflection spread).
I DO like the filigree work and general design a lot, though.
Ok, so when will you be mailing this to me? I'll be anxiously awaiting this beauty, and ready to place it gently around my neck! This could be one, or two on a golden chain. So delicate yet so full of power. Absolutely gorgeous Nathan. Verena
