I like the look of a contrasty black and white photo; it works well when there is a lot going on in the scene. From a composition standpoint, I would use the right half of the image.... switch the crop-window to portrait, and put the tree at the left 2/3 of the window,you then have an interesting mix of human-form shapes.
A nice b/w capture. I agree with robo_geek about the composition looking better if it were cropped. The glare on the ice could be toned down as well. Good job and thanks for sharing.
