fascinating cicada shell, but even better: I like the accent on textures here: the thick large expanses of bark v. the thin hairs, and even the largest version stands up to quality!

I was quite hesitant to post, as the quality of the images found here is excellent, quite higher than whatever I could shot.
BTW, the bark belongs to an eucalyptus tree.

Cicadas! You Too? We just had our 13 year invasion. The trees screamed every time you walked too close and they clumsily slammed into everything. Facinating creatures though and good macro down to the 'hairs' on the legs
