But I don't think a knight in shining armour will be able to save her. This Wasp Spider [Argiope bruennichi] specialises in catching grasshoppers and crickets - so this was an unhappy accident for the Common Blue Damselfly:(

Since we do not have any kind of poison spiders here, I really have no problem with spiders and looking at your pic shows me, that they can be real beauties. Very good action shot.

Outstanding. I have come to love spiders ever since Poodle Spider began gracing my front porch. This is a great capture of nature at her best.
