But I don't think a knight in shining armour will be able to save her. This Wasp Spider [Argiope bruennichi] specialises in catching grasshoppers and crickets - so this was an unhappy accident for the Common Blue Damselfly:(

That’s a marvellous shot Steve. I can’t say I ever saw an action shot of a spider before.
