Another from my Kefalonia, Greece, holiday folder. This is a Violet Dropwing [Trithemis annulata]. But wait! you say, I see no violet? That's because this is a female which, as in most species, doesn't attain the brilliant colour of the male. But I think she's attractive in a more subtle way.

I think she is really attractive. Crazy male, who would not want to have some ... uhm grubs with her. Look at her elegant wings and those long legs. With your beautiful shot of her, we will for sure find somebody for her.

Subtle's the word for it and when I saw it in the voting booth I wasn't quite sure what I thought of it because it was harder to see the delicate wings that you so expertly captured. So I just focused my attention in very closely and I'm glad I did because it deserved the high mark I gave you...excellent.
