Because of the rules of nomenclature this should be more properly called H. argutifolius, but as it is only found in the wild on Corsica and Sardinia the former name seems most apt! I love this plant for it's contrasts in shapes and textures and in it's subtle colours - various shades of green; even the flowers are a creamy green! Everyone should grow at least one Hellebore as it's about the first herbaceous plant to flower in the spring:)

Delightful speciman, Steve. The flowers themselves are so delicate and it's great how you've depicted them in various stages of opening. Are those serrated-edged leaves sharp (like mahonia or holly)? Excellent shot, which you've captured so attractively that I'd like to get a Helebore for my own garden.

What a beautiful flower and the big leaves are something very different. Your capture is great like always. Could you borrow me your talent?
